Long before I was supporting others on the path to food freedom, I spent over a decade in my own struggle with binge eating. It started after my dad died when I was 15, a moment that changed everything for me. I didn’t have the support to hold the grief, so food stepped in. It became comfort, control, rebellion, relief sometimes all in the same day. I tried everything: clean eating, paleo, vegan, colonic irrigation (yes, really), Ayurvedic retreats, yoga, mindset work... you name it, I’ve tried it (twice), but nothing stuck, because none of it actually touched what was going on underneath.Â
Eventually, I stopped chasing quick fixes and started listening to my body. That’s when everything changed. I found somatic therapy, got curious instead of critical, and began building a relationship with myself that was rooted in care not control. I found that my cravings were not just physical - but relational and emotional. And the more I got curious and listened to them, I was able to meet my needs, without depending on food.Â
Now, I help others do the same.Â
